Meet-a-Dad Judd Foster!

Meet Judd! He and his family own South of Heaven BBQ in Brunswick and they are serving some of the best on the Isles. Judd calls it his dream job, we call it our dream dinner. Find out more about Judd and where he likes to eat when he’s not cheffing it up!

What is your name? Judd Foster

What Golden Isle do you call home and how long have you lived there? We reside in Brunswick and have lived here for about a year and a half.

How many children do you have and what are their names and ages?I have one amazing son. Charlie Bradburn Foster and he’s 5 years old.

What do you love about raising a family here? It’s been a dream of ours to move here for a while now. My all time favorite thing is driving over the causeway. Everyday we take a moment in the car to take in the beautiful view and vocalize how absolutely blessed we are to be here. Charlie is a very free spirit and was meant to live near the beach.

Tell us about your career and one (or more!) thing you love about it. My Wife (Kate Foster) and myself own and operate South Of Heaven bbq. I love everything about my job. I get the opportunity to create every day. Charlie also comes to the restaurant with us every morning. So getting to show him the ins and outs of the bbq world is my dream. I like to think one day he’ll be very appreciative of the hard work we do ever day and apply it to his life.

What is your favorite piece of dad advice or “dad hack?” Life isn’t as serious as us adults like to make it. Play and dance hard!! We have a dance party every morning together at the restaurant before Charlie heads off to school.

How do you balance work and family? We try our best. Our industry can be very demanding. So we prioritize the best we can.

Favorite band/TV show/and or book…My favorite artist is RL Burnside and Ray Charles. We just finished Ozarks and I’m still not ok lol. I love reading cook books. We do lots of fusion with our food. It’s not your typical bbq.
