East Beach, 5th St Entrance

5th Street
A small entrance to the Pier side of East beach, this location has few parking spaces but is less crowded than other options. It does not have showers or tables facilities.
East Beach, Massengale Entrance

1350 Oceandrive Blvd
This beach entrance is a great location if you are planning on making a day of the beach. There are restroom facilities as well as showers and garbage cans. There is a lined walkway a few feet down the beach but when the tide is out there can be a long walk to the ocean shore. Tidal pools do fill in with the tidal changes however. This entrance also has a small playground.
East Beach, Coast Gaurd Entrance

1st Street
This is the most popular entrance to the beach on the island and is located near the WWII Museum. It has ample parking (but definitely get’s crowded during the summer months!), showers, restroom facilities, and garbages. Like Massengale due to tidal changes it can be a hike to reach the water. Bring a beach wagon to tote sand toys, chairs, or rogue toddlers.
Gould’s Inlet

North End of Bruce Drive
WARNING!!! Above all we want to reiterate the speed of the changing tides at Gould’s Inlet. At low tide sandbars seem walkable however tides are VERY strong in this location and come in quickly. Please take caution in the water here.
Gould’s Inlet is situated at the top of East Beach and is a haven for water sports like surfing and kitesurfing. The small tidal streams here are ideal for smaller children however the waves can be rough. There is only a small parking lot so be prepared to wait during holiday’s and the summer.

Driftwood Beach

South of N Loop Trail on N Beachview Drive (we like the last entrance in the right which has a small parking lot to the left and is just before Captain Wylly Road)
Located on the north end of Jekyll Island, Driftwood Beach will amaze you with the beautiful driftwood and trees that resemble a scene from another world. These gnarled and weathered trees are left behind from years of erosion. Driftwood Beach offers a wonderful location for photographs and is a very popular site for weddings.
Multiple beach access points along North Beachview Drive also provide access to Driftwood Beach. Designated parking areas are located along the road, next to each beach access point.
Driftwood is not a swimming beach.
