What is your name? Brittany Johnson
What Golden Isle do you call home and how long have you lived there? Brunswick, almost 4 years.
What do you love about living here?After living in the DC metro area for so long, the slower pace of life here on the coast has been a welcome change. I love the history and natural beauty of this area. Like many others who grew up in North Georgia, Jekyll and St. Simons were places that I vacationed as a child so there is also that aspect of nostalgia for me and being able to share this gem with my own kids is a wonderful thing.
How many children do you have and what are their names and ages? I have three children: Isla (10), Ashlynn (7), and Liam (4).
What’s one of your favorite mom resources (websites, groups, stores, etc.) in the area? Golden Isles Moms 😉
What do you do for work and what’s the best part of your job? I am a travel agent specializing in theme park vacations and special needs travel. I love helping families like my own plan the perfect vacation and make precious memories. Vacations can be incredibly challenging for special needs families, my own included as one of my children has autism. I love being able to provide some special expertise and peace of mind to clients who are also in that situation.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to know about you? I love thrill experiences like skydiving and bungee jumping. I am not a big risk taker in daily life so people are usually shocked to hear that I have jumped out of a plane for fun several times.
What’s one way you relax when you need to “unwind”? I like curling up with a good book and immersing myself in another “world.”
What’s your best “mom hack?” If your kid hates eye drops, don’t force their eye open. Let them lay down, close their eye, and drip the eye drops in the inner corner. Blink a few times and they’re in.
