What is your name? Kam Throckmorton
What Golden Isle do you call home and how long have you lived there? St. Simons – 2.5 years
What do you love about living here?I love the sense of community. Moving to a new town as a busy adult, I have been very intentional about making friends and I’m so thankful for my village. I also live across the street from my mom, which is so special.
I lived here in my 20’s so I have a connection to this island. It really is magical!
How many children do you have and what are their names and ages? 1 daughter, Scout – 3.5
What’s one of your favorite mom resources (websites, groups, stores, etc.) in the area?The local mom’s groups on Facebook are a great resource for ideas and support. I am also a big fan of therapy and I love the women at Radiant Counseling.
What do you do for work and what’s the best part of your job? I am a fashion stylist so I do closet edits, personal shopping, and trip packing. My job is so personal, I usually meet my clients for the first time in their homes. I am in their closets, you get to know people fast. I love collaborating with women to help them express (and sometimes discover) their personal style.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to know about you? I really don’t care about fashion, trends, or designer brands and I am the least judgemental person when it comes to what another woman is wearing. I am passionate about women living their lives in a big way and I love to see a women’s image match her personality. That’s really all I care about…do your clothes support the life you want to live?
What’s one way you relax when you need to “unwind”? If I had a day to myself, I would pull out my rolling racks and create outfits for hours. It’s like art for me.
It’s rare but my favorite way to relax is on days our daughter sleeps in and I can have coffee and chat with my husband before our day starts.
What’s your best “mom hack?”Living across the street from your mom. I am thankful everyday to be so close to her.
