Meet-a-Mom with Debbie Manor!

Debbie Manor is a St. Simons Island mom raising her two daughters on the island. In addition being a stay at home mom, Debbie is also president of the MOMS Club of SSI! The MOMS Club coordinates events for families as well as moms and is an active part of supporting the community.

What is your name? Debbie Manor

What Golden Isle do you call home and how long have you lived there? We live on St Simons Island. We have lived here on and off for two years before buying a home a year and a half ago.

What do you love about living here? I love being close to the beach, the beautiful weather, and amazing food.

How many children do you have and what are their names and ages? I have two daughters. Quinn is four and a half and Claire just turned one last month.

What’s one of your favorite mom resources (websites, groups, stores, etc.) in the area? I use Facebook mostly the St. Simons Island MOMS page.

What do you do for work and what’s the best part of your job? I am a stay at home mom. I am also the President of MOMS Club of St Simons Island. The best part is helping moms that are new to the area or starting their stay at home life meet up and find other moms with similar interests, children with similar ages etc. Moving to a new area or transitioning to stay at home life can be a big adjustment.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to know about you? I was born in Frankfurt, Germany

What’s one way you relax when you need to “unwind”? Take a bath and read a book.

What’s your advice to moms admits the Covid-19 crisis? Everyone has a different comfort level with covid. Respect each other and each others comfort levels.

What’s your best mom hack? Quinn is a picky eater so sometimes I hide chicken in my Mac and cheese.
